Poetry in the Park Films
"Autumn in California." 2019
This 58 second film, designed for Instagram, celebrates the distilled colors of the California landscape in autumn, through the poetry of Kenneth Rexroth and the music of Antonio Morina Gallerio. The film features Point Reyes National Park, and Green Valley Farm and Mill, Sonoma County, California.
"Redwood." (2019)
This one minute film, designed for Instagram, celebrates Ben Howard's poem about the power and vulnerability of the redwood. Footage for this Poetry in the Parks instillation was taken within Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve of Sonoma County, California.
"Woodlight" 2019
This 44 second film, designed for Instagram, illuminates the beauty of autumn light in an urban forest through the words of Denise Levertov and the music of Wolfgang Amedeus Mozart. Through a play of image (park footage), music (Sonata Facile) and word (Levertov’s “Athanor”) it is the first Poetry in the Park installation created through my work with @elm_grove_park.
"In Blackwater Woods" 2019
This beloved Mary Oliver poem, which celebrates autumn's ability to teach us the most valuable lessons we have to learn about life, is dramatized through scenes captured within Elm Grove Park. It is 1.03 minutes in length.
"The Park" 2019
This 3.36 minute film was produced for the National Geographic Explorers program. It frames my artist's statement and communications vision for the @elm_grove_park community Instagram site.
